First day of school : 5th grade edition

My little man is growing up. Monday was his first day of his last year in elementary school. Where in the world has the time gone??

He seems to have a good teacher this year. So that's a step up from last year. One can hope!

Here he is all geared up and ready to leave.

I told him to give me a thumbs up if he was excited to be starting school.

His Daddy wrote him an awesome note for him to read before he got on the bus. Well, I'll have to assume it was awesome since Lilah and I was forbidden to read it!

Here's what sissy did all day while I was cleaning and big brother was gone to school. She called out for him most of the morning.

When Mac got home from school I asked him to to do the 'ol thumbs up/thumbs down to let me know how his first day went.

Thumbs up it was!!!!!

Fun in the hotel

Since I have been working this weekend, I didn't get around to pulling up the boy's fishing trip pictures, so I'll post them later this week.

Here are a few more pictures from the vacation....then, no more!!!

McG starts school tomorrow AM so I will take some pictures of that joyous occasion!!

Lilah was OBSESSED with dipping her fries in my diet Coke and I was obsessed with letting her do anything that would shut her up!!!

Brannon introduced us the the underground world of eating shrimp tails. I found this very disturbing but we asked the waitress about it and she said lots of (crazy) people do it, including her fiance'!!!

Mac gave it a try and he said he thought they were delish!

McGwire insisted that I take and picture of his lego creation and post it on the blog.
This lego man was speared by a toothpick dipped in ketchup to look like blood.
(talk about disturbing)

Day Three PM..more from Picture Day!!

We tried for "Picture Day" again later that afternoon. Tim took us to a beach called "Driftwood Beach". It was really cool to look at but there were gnats and mosquitos swarming around, biting us and about a gazillion of these little critters crawling all over the driftwood. It was really creepy. They were running around like roaches!!!

Apparently there are turtles all over the place but, of course, we didn't see any.

Well, we tried to get some good pictures. Lilah just wasn't in the picture taking mood that day, but when is she ever??

Day Three AM...Picture Day, Part One:

Sunday morning we went to the pier to walk around and take a few pictures.

Actually, Sunday was designated "picture day" since we didn't want to play that day.

All in all, "picture day" didn't work as well as I had planned, but here's what we came up with:
