Fishing ...take 2

Mac's scout troop went fishing again this week but this time they cooked a little fish dinner to make it worth their while.

4 of these boys are hockey friends of McG's.

The look on McG's face shows exactly how I feel about the whole fishing thing!

Lastly, here's a video showing McGwire's first fish gutting. Grandpap will be so proud!

5th grade Award Ceremony 2010

McGwire's school had their 5th grade award's ceremony this morning and we were all excited to be able to attend. The kids were supposed to dress up, so Wednesday pics are gonna look a whole lot like Sunday pics and since we didn't do Sunday pics this week then it's a good thing we're dressed up for Wednesday pics!!! Right?

Cereal and biscuits. Breakfast of champions!

Here's Daddy getting in on the action. He was so happy to be able to sleep in a few hours and get a chance to see what everyone looks like in the morning. Lilah was super excited that he was home. McGwire didn't seem to care one way or the other! haha

We dropped McGwire off at school and then waited in the car for about 15 or 20 mins before they started letting folks in. While we were standing in the school, I was holding Lilah and she was playing with my shirt buttons when all of a sudden, she ripped off my top button! I was fuming!!! I spent the rest of the morning worried about how I could keep the ceremony from turning

X-rated!!!

We got this picture before the progam started. I don't think he saw us yet.

Lilah did pretty well since the program was very short but there came a time about 1/2 way through that I thought we were going to have to take her out! In fact, she got worse right there at the end when McGwire got his award , Lilah kept saying (VERY loudly, I might add) that she wanted big brothers' necklace!

BTW, I totally look like a man in this picture!!! UGH!

~Waiting for his name to be called~

~Getting his award "necklace" for the Honor Roll~

~walking away whilst his little sister was yelling for his necklace~

~McGwire: Still walking. Lilah: Still yelling~

Daddy and McG

Mommy and McG
(Can you see Lilah's hand reaching up for the darned award?)

All of the long hours and hard work paid off!!!

:cough, cough. Sputter, sputter:
Yeah, right!!!

There were 2 kids there who made straight A's from kindergarten through 5th grade. Good for them, silly overachievers!! haha

McGwire made the AB honor roll by goofing off, and we couldn't be more proud of him!

Little sister FINALLY got her necklace!

To make this day even better, I got a phone call just a few moments ago from Mac's teacher telling me that he "exceeding" in his CRCT scores. Which means he passes to 6th grade.

Holy Mackerel!!! My baby's in the 6th grade!!!

Honor roll...again.

I totally forgot to mention that McGwire made the honor roll again last quarter. His report card was all A's except for 2 B's. We were invited for an award ceremony for 5th graders next week so I'll have to remember to take lots of pictures. He said only 3 other kids in his class got invited. We are so lucky that he hasn't had to struggle in school. Unfortunately, I believe there will be lots of struggling next year when we home school. Heaven help us!!!

His sister, on the other hand, may have to ride the short bus to school. We go tomorrow to have her evaluated to start speech therapy in the school system next year. I was all for it initiall,y but then found out that it's just once a week for 30 mins. What the....?? I don't know why I thought she'd be going 6 hours a day, 5 days a week but I totally SWEAR that I thought she would be!!! Imagine my shock and horror when I found out the ugly truth!!! In fact, all of a sudden, I don't care how bad her speech is, it's certainly not bad enough for me to have to cart her to school once a week!! haha

Sunday pics

On Mothers Day, Tim "surprised" me by going up to NC to "surprise" my mom. So we packed up spaghetti and left over cupcakes and headed north. We left too early to go to church so missd out on any religion this week.
McG had been on restriction from his game systems but my mothers day gift to him was to let him play his games during the trip.

My mothers day gift to Lilah was to not smack her as she was whining because Sp0ngebob wasn't coming on fast enough on the dvd player.

I thought this was a neat picture of Tim in the side mirror.

After a nice lunch, we went outside for a while. The weather was beautiful but really cold. In fact, I couldn't heat up any that day. I even had to get an extra blanket that night when I went to bed.

Lulah Belle enjoyed the german chocolate cake picky made.

Mac went down to wade in the river but ended up swimming. The water was FREEZING cold... like colder than you can imagine but he swam in it for a good 30 minutes.

Crazy boy!!

Even Lilah thought he was nutz!!

Then we all thought Lilah was nutz when she stripped down butt naked.

Now THAT'S the epitome of white trash!!!

Later that day, after we coaxed her into her jammies, she traded her chocolate mouth for a vanilla mouth as she ate a cupcake.

Oops!! I almost forgot to add McG's picture after he came out of the river.
He had to go warm himself in the hot car for a little while so he wouldn't catch pneumonia!

We ended up leaving about 6pm and had a nice car ride home. I was thankful to be able to be with my mom on mothers day. Maybe next year Tim will be able to be able to surprise Beverly.

Couponing...part 2

Tim has still been gung ho about couponing but I have not been very good at posting about it. The wife of a friend of his from work threw papers and was kind enough to give Tim the leftovers but the newspaper was recently bought out and she lost her job. Tim was panicky for about 5 seconds until he realized a different way to get a gazillion coupons. I would reveal his evil plan on the blog but I really am afraid that the info could be used against me in a court of law. Tim assures me it's perfectly legal but I have my doubts! haha

He got these hand soaps for 3o cents a piece.

These body washes were free. BTW, these pictures were taken after we started storing them on the shelves. Also, he went to another store the next day and got

about 16 more.

These men shower gels were 80 cents a piece. Lilah seems pretty excited about the low price.

Again, pics were taken after we stored a few.

McGwire was so excited about the mens soap that he gave it a big kiss. He is all about smelling manly here lately...which is a good thing since he stinks to high heaven after his hockey games!!! In fact, I found him sneaking some of his daddy's cologne the other day! Someone's growing up!!!

Tim got these baby soaps a couple of weeks ago as well. They were free.

If there's ever a shortage of soaps in the world...you know where to find us!!!

Broken heart/lacerated knee

See this pitiful little face????

See this pitiful knee???

Poor Lilah had a run in with a killer nail on our kitchen floor yesterday AM while helping me mop (curse you, housework!!!!!). Ripped her knee right open... so I took her to the ER and she had to have stitches. She was quite a trooper though and was rewarded with 2 lollipops for her bravery!!! She broke a little piece of my heart yesterday.

Sunday pics

I know everybody holds their breath until I post our Sunday pictures, so now you can all breeeeeathe!!!! haha

Isn't this the sweetest picture on Lilah holding on to McG's arm?? Totally unprompted, by the way.

McGwire always has to have a goofy picture and Lilah looks like she's been caught in the act. Not sure what act but whatever it is, she's been caught in it!!

Daddy's little family.

Mommy's little family.

Mommy and daddy without their little family.

Lilah didn't last very long in Sacrament meeting today. Shocker, I know.
I took her out about halfway through. I'm not sure exactly what to do to change things with her. Any ideas?
