Please, please PLEEEEEEEASE pray for my baby boy this week as he embarks on a new and exciting journey without his mommy!!!
McG is going to scout camp this year and will be gone an entire week. Tim will be with him until Monday and then he will be on his own until Tim goes back on Friday night
McGwire will be fine...but I am going to have a nervous breakdown and worrying myself to death!!!
He started getting his backpack ready this week.
I cried.
He made sure his socks were waterproofed in a ziplock bag.
I cried.
He tried on his new headlight headband.
I cried.
He showed off his new watch band.
I cried..... and bought him the watch.
He modeled his new fanny pack.
I cried.
...not because I was sad but because he looked so ridiculous wearing the darned thing.
Daddy made a happy face when he talked about the campout.
I cried.
Look at my little boy scout.
He's so happy to be leaving the nest.
I will be holding my breath until he's home safe and sound,
but until then...
...I'll be crying.And praying!

While all this is happening Lilah is just taking it all in.looking pathetic!! Does McGwire have his and Tims' stuff in that bag?
It is hard when they go away. I got off easy, Tims first camp was just 1 night When Tim went to Utah i had a 3 hr drive back from Detroit and cried the whole way and probably for a month after. That was one of the hardest things i ever went through. Then to Brazil and it wasn't getting any easier. It got easier when he went to Atlanta and was within driving distance although not as close as i would like!!
Feelin' your pain girl! When Parker was in scouts they went on a winter camp and slept in snow caves that they had to dig out. I thought for sure my baby was going to freeze to death. He loved it! It's the only scout camp he stills talks about. McG will have a blast!
