McGwire's week

Mac had quite an eventful week last week.

He created a turtle out of clay in art class.

He played in 2 championship hockey games. (2nd place in both leagues~ that's why the sour face)

That's better.

He made a pillow in art class as well. Way better than mommy could ever make!

And finally, he spent all day Saturday at a scout merit badge camp where he earned his first two merit badges~cooking and music. He learned how to make beef stew in cooking class and made this really cool didley bow in music class.

Sunday Pictures

Here's Sunday pictures a few days late!!♥
McGwire had already changed out of his Sunday clothes by the time I snapped this picture.

And here's Lilah. She came home with a weird rash on both of her cheeks that lasted for a couple of days. Heaven only knows what goes on in the church nursery!!

A Request

Picky requested a picture of Lilah in her new $2.99 Lily Pulitzer overalls. I was all to happy to oblige but first here's a picture of McGwire modeling a pair of polo shorts I scored for Bodie for $2.oo.

I went to the Lily website to try to find the overalls so that I could get an estimated price but they didn't have any this season. They did have a basic jumper for $68 and they sell their pants for $68 as well, so it's safe to say that I saved a pretty penny!!
I love a bargain!!!♥
Cute, huh???

I also promised a picture of McG in his hockey gear. Of course, I forgot the camera. By the time he got home, he had already changed into his regular clothes. McGwire won tonight so now he plays in 2 championship games. One Friday night and one Saturday morning.
Wish us luck!!

He's covering his mouth because he had a blue mustache from the slush puppie he drank after the game!!

snow...again!

Although the kids had a blast playing in the snow, hopefully this we be last last snow pictures for the year. I don't think I'm ready for the summer heat, though. I'm never satisfied!! haha

Enjoy!

Scout Awards

Last Friday was McGwire's Blue and Gold scout banquet. It promised to be a wonderful night with good food, great fun and lots of awards!!!! McGwire stayed home from school that day not feeling well (remember I took him to the doctor earlier that day?) but he seemed to feel alright when he got up to the church. I had to be there early to help decorate and Tim and McGwire got there a little after me for Tim to set up his stuff as well. Things seemed well in the beginning. McGwire was having a blast, Lilah was running around going crazy, Tim was busy "doing his cubmaster thing" and me and Brannon were keeping ourselves amused in various ways. After dinner, the kids had a scavanger hunt to find their awards. McG seemed fine at that time but when it came for him and his friend to go get their face painted and get the Arrow of Light award, things took a turn for the worse!!!
This is a picture we took at home after the cermony. I drew the big heart in the center of his forehead and Tim drew everything else. Each color represents something that has to do with scouting. How's that for an explaination?? You can look it up yourself if you're really interested! haha

Here's his Arrow of Light award. We are very proud of McGwire for this accompishment. He worked hard in Cubs and hopefully he will work just as hard in boy scouts and earn his Eagle one day.
His den leader (Sis Lebo) and her son made the arrow andTim put together the award.

This picture was taken about 3 minutes before Mac had to run to the bathroom to vomit. We have the entire thing on video but will spare Mac the humiliation of posting it ont he blog. You can tell that he doesn't feel very well. He leaned over to me and whispered that he had to throw up. I tried to get him to hold it in for a few moments but that wasn't happening! I asked Jill to get a garbage can "just in case" but before she could make it back, poor McG was fixing to spew. So we ran to the bathroom and he was able to make it in time. Bless his little heart!!!

This was taken after the vomting episode. He felt a lot better and was able to finish the ceremony, get his award and "cross over" from cubs to scouts. Unfortunately, this was about the time that Tim started feeling his kidney stone make it's debut.

Here's a few more pictures of the festivities.

Sunday Pictures

Tim has a meeting every Sunday at church at 1130 so the rest of us are left having a free for all for an hour before we have to leave for church. On this wild and crazy Sunday, McGwire's enjoying a little "pre-church" ice cream. Forget vegetables and protein for lunch, we're all about sugar and preservatives!!

I can't explain how much they both hate Sunday picture time.

I got Lilah to smile once....

... but certainly not twice.

If you look hard enough, you can make out the slightest little smile from McG but that's as close as we're gonna get.

Stay tuned for more pictures from the past couple of weeks. I'm a little behind due to Tim's pesky kidney stone!!!

The Crud

McGwire came home from school last Thursday acting all mopey and complaining of "strep throat". I am not sure why he he thinks he has strep everytime he's sick, but I digress...
Friday I kept him home from school since he just didn't act right and sure enough he started running a temp later that morning. I went ahead and took him to the doctor since he was complaining of a sore throat but his strep test came back negative. He did, however, have pink eye, (thanks you, Picky....... and Saige!) so we got a rx for eye drops. Poor thing was sick all weekend with the fever and a couple of episodes of vomiting (one of which happened as he was getting his Arrow of Light award at scouts, but that's a different blog post). I kept him home again yesterday since he still had a temp late Sunday afternoon but he was back in full force all day yesterday, pestering me and Lilah!!
He just got home from school a few moments ago with a reminder that his school project is due tomorrow.
TOMORROW!?!?!?! What the....???
Serenity now!!!!!
How we are going to fit that in between regular homework and a hockey tournament game tonight is beyond me!!!

Here's few pictures of Mac sporting his new hockey suspenders!

McG may say he's #2 (Yes, I know that's a peace sign)...

...but his sister thinks he's #1.
