O Come let us adore Him

For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.     Isaiah 9:6

FINALLY!!!!

On the 9th day before Christmas while most normal people are rushing around buying and wrapping presents,

we are just putting decorations on our Christmas tree.

Meanwhile, our presents are bought and wrapped and still sitting on the dining room table, thank you very much!

One of my little projects this year was to make photo frames for the kids. I was lucky enough to find 10 years worth of Christmas pictures for McG. I had to do a lot of digging, though.

Oh yeah, baby!! Let me throw this one in!!

Ok, back to the picture ornaments... I was amazed at how much Lilah has changed in a year. Of course she was an infant a year ago but I can barely remember her looking like this!

WHAT A CHUNKY MONKEY!

Now she's just a MONKEY!

Anywho...McG wanted me to show off his milk mustache to everyone.

Merry Christmas! I hope, by now, that your tree is up and decorated and your gifts are under the tree and not on a table somewhere!

Christmas card picture bloopers

We took our Christmas card pictures this weekend (yes, I know we are running far behind) and, in true Bird fashion, we took 88 pictures and only one was usable. Lilah was kicking and screaming the whole time. We tried as hard as we could to try to keep her attention and entertained but she was having none of it!!! Poor McGwire...Tim told him to just look at the camera and keep smiling just in case we lucked up on a good shot of Lilah.

Here's a "best of" display with the picture we used embedded in. Which one do you think it is?

Lilah karate kicked McGwire right in the chops!!!

Here's a couple of pre pictures.

The Squeaky shoes!!

Does anyone remember the episode of *Cheers* when Cliff sells everyone shoes that squeak??

(take a peak to refresh your memory)

Well, they sell baby shoes that squeak. It's the same concept as the bells on the shoes when I was little. I LOVE these shoes...when I take the squeaker out. Lilah LOVES them....when the squeaker is in.

Anywho, they are the cutest little things!

Here's our version of "The Squeaky Shoe"

Starring: Lilah

Directed by:McGwire

With a special guest appearance by: Daddy

Monster in a Box

Wondering what to get Lilah this year for Christmas?

How's that for cheap and easy?

She's been KICKED OUT!!!

...of our room. We finally started putting Lilah in her own room to sleep at night. She still sleeps in our room for naps but she's sleeping at night in her own crib now. I know it's about time~ she's nearly a year and a half~ but I just couldn't bear the thought of her being so far away. And let's face it: we all know I was too lazy to climb the stairs to put her in her room (our master is on the main level). Anywho, here is a picture of the first night she slept in her very own room (4 nights ago):

And here she is all bright eye'd and bushy tailed from a good night's sleep!

I hate having to climb the stairs first thing in the AM to get her but I guess I can't leave her up there all day. Or can I?

If the Grinch had a wife.....

.....her name would be Kelly Bird! It is already December 10th and we are nowhere near ready for Christmas. Tim and McGwire put the tree up Sunday afternoon but we haven't had a chance to decorate it yet. It doesn't even have lights on it yet. It's just a nekkid tree!

Tim said he would kill me if I posted this picture but it was too good to pass up!

I was able to wrap a pretty good portion of gifts while the boys were in Canada and they are sitting nicely on the dining room table awaiting their home under the tree. Who knows when they will actually make it to their home.

:note to self: pass on the blue wrapping paper next time. Even if it is on super duper sale!

Poor Tim has a lot to do fo me: print the Christmas letter, take and print all of the pictures that we need for cards and gifts, make more gift tags, and still find time to shop for my gifts on Christmas Eve. How will he ever do it all??

Luckily, he was able to make these tags this past weekend. He is so good to me.

Since we are running so far behind on decorating, Tim promised me that we would only put up a tree and maybe a wreath on the door. Normally our entire house is decorated. Bedrooms and everything!! But I just don't have the time or energy this year. Here's the extent of our Christmas decor:
