Trick or Treat

Well, when the Cat's away, the Mice will trick or treat until they get kicked off the doorsteps!

As Kelly is in North Carolina tonight I thought I would pick up her slack and post for her this evening.

McGwire's Trick or Treat Bag................Free (it helps to have a crafty Grandma)
McGwire's Serial Killer/Hockey Mask................ $3

Staying out trick or treating all night..................PRICELESS!

This is what's known as the HAUL!

Let me break it all down for you!

CHOCOLATE!

Laffy Taffy and Candy

We apparently ran into an old lady? I haven't seen a caramel in years!

We also ran into the gamble chews....Not quite sure the shelf life of these bad boys but it looks like they re-gifted them from last year.
It's like we're playing a game of Old Maid and we got stuck with the Queen of Spades
I'll be saving these to hand out next year.

Oh the classic substitutes. Props to those that still keep up the fight against dental work and opt for the anti cavity gifts.......fake teeth, spider rings, plastic cockroach, witch top and is that what I think it is?.....

Yep, it is.....An official Halloween Cat-Duck

Then there were the I forgot tonight's Halloween, you don't mind if i grab a couple handfuls of these after my lunch today so I can have something to hand out tonight do you?

They say the next one is a caramel? Looks like some tampering took place.....Straight to the garbage.

Apparently the Starbursts were the candy of the year!

McGwire got all embarrased when he found this one.....

The Best Halloween take yet!

Partying...church style!

We had trunk-or-treat at church Saturday nite. We went late because I burned the rolls and didn't want to go there to eat if I didn't bring anything. Yes, I BURNED the rolls!! HELLOOOOO!

Anywho, here a just a few pictures. I took a bunch of pictures on the new camera but Tim still has not taught me how to download those to the computer yet. I didn't get any shots of McG at church because I actually never saw him. He hit the ground running and hung out with his friends until he resurfaced during trunk-or-treat time. He scored lots of candy. Luckily he doesn't like chocolate too much and gave it all to me, so I scored too!

Here's the only picture that I took of McG on the old camera. He was a hockey player that had been in a fight.

Here's a rare sighting of Lilah smiling captured on film.

Olivia, Lilah and Brayden.

Kylee, Lilah and Olivia.

There were about 4 different people trying to take a picture of these girls. It was very hard to get them to sit still. I don't know if any of us got a good shot. You can't see Lilah's little striped tights in this picture but they were so cute.

P.S. Here are the same girls about 7-8 months ago. It was hard to get their picture then, too.

If you're so smart, how come you ain't rich??

McGwire's first report card came out last week. I had to show his grandparents how well he's doing (everybody else can just roll your eyes and groan). He is such a smart boy and we are very proud of him. He is even doing well in behavior which has never been his strong point. Just to clarify A=A, B=B, and basically E=A, S=B. I have no idea why they don't have just one grading system. That's Georgia's schools for ya.

Also McG's had his first big project of the year: The Solar System mobile. I put Tim in charge of helping him since I have mental scars from my childhood "solar system project". I do everything else around the house, so I figure Tim can help out with this kinda stuff. Tim went the smart route and purchased a kit from the craft store. McG painted it, put it all together and labled it all by himself. He did an excellent job. I was a little nervous at first having McG turn in a store bought project and then I got a LOT nervous whenever he told me that everyone else's in the class was made out of foam or clay. I just knew he would fail...but he got an A+!!!! YAY!!!.... and whew!!

Feelin' Halloweenie

We were gonna go to a pumpkin patch this weekend but it was rainy and 1/2 of us were sick anyway (the half that's not me and McGwire) so we opted to go out to lunch in pumpkin shirts instead. Well, the kids wore pumpkin shirts but Tim and I actually looked like real pumpkins in our orange shirts (note to self: GO ON A FREAKIN' DIET ALREADY!!).

I really love Fall. Too bad I've never really lived anywhere that actually had Fall weather, but I love Fall anyway. I also love Fall decorations (side note: am I supposed to capitalize "Fall"? My Alabama education is showing!) Anywho...I love seeing everyone else's decorations but I hate moving around my normal decor to decorate my own house. Christmas decorations irritate me enough but Tim INSISTS on those every year. I did put out a few things though.

Tim's mom made this cute Halloween (again with the capitalization question) wall hanging.

Tim's mom also made this cute pumpkin table runner.

I filled up my jars with halloween candy. Apparantly no one like the poor candy corn but the M&M's went faster than cocaine at an "all you can sniff " party!!

Going

Going

Almost there...

Gone!!!

We have our "trunk-or- treat" party at church next Saturday and then "trick-or-treat"ing on halloween so that will be exciting!!!

How to make a grown man cry!

First~ make him purchase $40 worth of shrimp on St Simon's island.

Second~ cook the small shrimp immediately and enjoy but save the jumbo shrimp for another day.

third~ put jumbo shrimp in the refrigerator instead of freezer.

fourth~let it sit in fridge until it starts to smell like a week old dirty diaper.

fifth~ cook it anyway 'cause your "just not sure".

sixth~ realize that it's really not wise to "chance it" and throw shrimp in the trash.

and lastly...sit back and enjoy the waterworks!!!

Sunday Treat

I have to show off one of Lilah's new jumpers. I bought it and it's cute little black/white gingham friend off the etsy site for $19 a piece. That was with free monogramming and everything. You can't hardly get a dress from walmart for that price. I love a bargain.

When we got to church Sunday, it was discovered that the restrooms were flooded. We proceded with Sacrament meeting but they cancelled the rest of church. I'm not one to want to miss out on a good church session but it was such a relief to be able to go home and not have to wrestle with Lilah (and believe me, she's a good wrestler) and to be able to get a little rest before having to go to work. I could certainly get used to that. I'm thinking about getting to church a little early next Sunday and stuffing the toilets with toilet paper just to see what happens.

I'm sueing Betty Crocker!

I'm meeting with my lawyer in the morning about my legal options against Betty Crocker.

She promised me that if I added oil, eggs and water to her cake mix I would get this:

We submit exhibit A:

The prosecution rests, Your Honor.
