Give that boy a gold star!

After a rough start this week and a rough finish of last week, McG got a much needed positive behavior note from his teacher. We are proud of him. Baby steps, right?

He even earned a 'free time' pass (whatever that means).

He's a mess, but we love him!

b'day gifts

Here's Lilah with her very first birthday presents. She seems to be liking the toys better than the boxes they came in which was what I thought she'd be playing with!!

She STILL refuses to smile for the camera!! Actually, both of them refuse to smile for the camera!! Whatup?

I promise we have happy children!!

Happy 11 month 3 week and 1 day birthday to Lilah

Lilah's real birthday is Sunday but I have to work this weekend and mom and dad couldn't be here then anyway, sooooo they came through yesterday on their way down to Mobile and brought presents and cake for the birthday girl! They also bought a little petifore as a "smash cake" for her and she took to that like an addict to a needle. And thus it starts....

McGwire took this video so try not to get too dizzy. Also, that is his wonderfully shrill voice singing the "cha-cha-cha" version of happy birthday. Tim was at hockey tryouts and wasn't able to see the beginning of his daughters addiction to cake but we did save him a piece!!

The Hulk is a sissy and a pantywaist!!

Mac and Tim went to see Clone Wars tonight and apparently ran into the Hulk at the mall! I don't know about you, but I believe McG could kick the Hulk's whimpy butt!!!

Punked and Punky

First of all, let's start with "punked". Tim thought he was being funny the other night when he created his trout photo and posted it on the blog. The joke ended up being on HIM as everyone seems to have thought that we really had a stinky 'ol fish on our wall. Can I just say...I'M OFFENDED!!!! Do you really think I would decorate my house in dead aquatic vertebrate??? I mean SERIOUSLY people!?!?! haha Rest assured that my bathroom still looks like this:

Now for the "punky" part. I don't know if it's because she misses her big brother or if she's starting the terrible 2's a year early but Lilah has been a little punk for the last few days! She growls when she doesn't get her way and has been whiney as heck and she's all over the place getting into everything. She plays with EVERYTHING that is not in any way a toy and ignores EVERYTHING that even resembles a toy.

This is basically what she's been doing for the past few days:

I am constantly getting her out of any and all cabinets. Heaven forbid I buy those safety latches. They would cramp my decorating style. (As if the fish didn't do that already).

Since she was being so punky, ,I decided to make her a punk rocker in the tub yesterday. Every child should have a picture of the bathtub mohawk in their collection of embarrassing photos, right??

On a differnt note. I bought Lilah's halloween costume on ebay the other day. It's Gymboree's "pumpkin fairy" costume and I had a heck of a time getting it at a low price. People were bidding up to $70 for this crazy thing. Luckily, Gymboree just put out their costumes last week and they had this one again so that forced the prices down at ebay a bit!!! I got it for $17.99 and it sells for $34.99 at Gymboree!!! It is in PERFECT condition!!! YEA ME!!! Now if I can score the cute striped tights before they sell out then Lilah will be a cutest little pumkin fairy ever!!! Here's a little bitty preview of the costume. She refused toput the booties and headband on!

And finally, just when you want to smack her for being such a little turkey, she smiles and makes it all better again!

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!!!!!

Extreme Makeover~ Bathroom Edition

I got bored one day (I need a hobby) and decided to make over our downstairs guest bathroom. I get inspired by stupid craft blogs but have absolutely no creativity on my own. Here's my little project. I have to give a shout out to Tim since he did 99% of the work. THANK YOU TIM and THANK YOU PHOTOSHOP!!

These are 2 pics that hung by the side of the toilet.

I took the prints out and replaced them with scrapbook paper that I thought was cute.

This pic was above the toilet.

Again, I kept the frame and replaced it with scrapbook paper. Tim made a "B" for me in photoshop and printed it on the scrapbook paper. It turned out so cute, I think!

Here's a better shot.

I found a photo box with coordinating colors and placed it on the back of the toilet. I love the colors but am not in love with the way the toilet paper looks in it. Any ideas on what I can put in it??

This weird kite thingy was on the wall by the sink. Hey..at least the colors matched, right??

Now, here's my favorite part of the bathroom...my birdie prints!! Didn't Tim do a great job? Again with the scrapbook paper and then Tim recreated and printed these cute birds I found on the internet!!

Aren't they the cutest??

Lastly, I replaced a little american flag doo-dad (not pictured) on the sink with this old mason jar filled with bird eggs and tied a couple of coordinating ribbon around it!!!

Well, there you have it. I ain't no Martha Stewart but I think it turned out alright.

First Day of 4th Grade

Well, technically it's the second day of 4th grade but these pics were taken on the first day!!
Here's our 4th grader getting ready to leave!

Here's our 4th grader after I said, "ACT ENTHUSED"!!!!

Here's our 4th grader at Sonic just after ordering breakfast 'cause we had absolutey no breakfast food at our house on his first day of 4th grade!!! :(

Here's our 4th graders little sister being mischievous while big brother was busy at school being a 4th grader!

This is our 4th grader fresh from his first day of 4th grade. I asked him to put a "thumbs-up" if he had a GREAT day or a "thumbs-down" if he had a HORRIBLE day....this is what I got:

He had homework on his very first day of 4th grade! Can you believe it?? Hopefully his second day of 4th grade is much better than his first!!!!

A Fish Tale

With school starting, this weekend was the last chance to visit Picky and Grampy's house for a while. Tim has decided that he loves fishing, so that's what he does when we've visited NC lately. He woke up early Friday AM so he could have plenty of time to fish and relax.

About an hour or so after he started we heard a loud scream. The TV was on so it kinda went un noticed the first time. A couple of seconds later we heard some hoopin' -n- hollerin' but it still didn't register. Then, a few more seconds went by and we heard it again and realized it was Tim. We figured that he either fell in the ice cold water or he caught a fish.

AND WHAT A FISH HE CAUGHT! He was HUGE!!

Grampy went down the to measure it for Tim. It was about 23" long. Then he got curious to see how much it weighed so he brought it up to the deck to weigh it. It weighed about 4 1/2 lbs. Tim was thrilled so he continued fishing to find this little guy's friends and family.

Here's Grampy holding the fish:

Here's McG holding the fish:

Well, Grampy had to go somewhere, so he left. Picky had the baby and Tim was in the middle of the river fishing so that left me and McG to do something with the fish. Well, let me rephrase that: That left ME to do something with the fish. Tim wanted me to tie it to the deck but I couldn't figure out how to do it, so McG got a bucket to put the fish in and filled it with water. The fish really didn't fit too well so we had to do a little manipulating to get it in. I just left it there and went inside.

A few hours later Tim came in to ask where the fish was so he could get a picture with it. I told him where it was but unfortunately, when Tim went to get it, the bucket was empty!! He was a little heartbroken...and a LOT ticked! There were a couple of dogs on the bank of the river that AM, one of which actually went out into the river were Tim was fishing, and we assumed that they had taken the fish.

The next day when Tim was fishing AGAIN...another fisherman spotted Tims fish. It was completely intact with just a couple of teeth marks on it. Tim was excited to be able to finally get his picture taken with his trophy fish!!!

THE END!

Here's my 2 favorite catches!
