You say it's your birthday? Well it's McGwires birthday too, yeah!

Can you believe our little man is 9 years old now?? CRAZY! He wasn't supposed to have a party but was going to just invite 3 friends over to eat cake and ice cream and to play "rockband" . Somehow a party broke out. Also, I've come to realize that even though you tell people not to bring a gift, they do anyway. So McG was loving life!!!! When I realized that a few more kids were coming over and the "non party" was going to be at noon, I decided I'd have to feed the little creatures so Tim went and bought pizza for them to eat. I don't even want to know how much we ended up spending this year. A friend of mine gave her son the choice of a party or $50 (she made the $50 sound really good...which it is really good for an 8 year old) and he chose the money. We will be offering the cash next year, I promise!

Here's the gang! McGwire had a good time, really. He was really neat to watch when he opened his gifts, too. He acted very excited about every gift and thanked every child.

Blowing out the candles!

Freaky Friday

It's not really a freaky Friday but I couldn't think of a clever title off the top of my head.

Here's some shots of our little girl. I tried to feed her solids again today and she did pretty good but I decided we need to wait a little while before we make this permanent. The experts are now recommending waiting til babies are 6 months to start solids so I have at least another month to wait. We'll see what she thinks about that, though. At her dr's appointment Monday, she weighed 19.6#. BIG MAMA!!!!!

She's still such a very good baby.

On to McGwire..... His b'day is tomorrow and so we semi pre celebrated tonight. We went to the Japanese restaurant and that was fun (and delish) and then came home and let him open up his "big"gift. He was loving "Guitar Hero" so much that we decided to get him "Rock Band". He had already kinda figured it out because I was an idiot and let him see the wrapped package. I didn't realize he had his Dad's psychic gift of guessing presents. On the way home (we met Tim at the restaurant so we were in separate cars) McG asked me to tell him what was in the package and he promised to act surprised when he opened it. NICE TRY, BUDDY!!! Here's a video of his idea of "acting surprised";

By the way, we finally got McGwire's hair cut today. Here's a better picture of the finished product.

It is nearly 1 am and I am just now finishing this post because we just finished playing "Rockband". It is WAAAAY fun but at the end we were all getting so tired that we wanted to kill each other. Now I know why bands break-up, especially when you throw in drugs, alcohol and groupies (of which we have none)!!!

I'll post more pics tomorrow during his little party.

Creepy snowman on dry grass

Mac and his friend across the street built a snowman after the snow "storm" and named him Sparky. He's cute and still standing along with his little baby sidekick (not pictured). It's really odd seeing a snowman in the middle of a dry yard.

The Blizzard of 2008

It snowed late yesterday afternoon and early evening yesterday for the first time in a looooong time. McGwire was overly excited but I have to admit, so was I. McGwire thanked Heavenly Father for letting it snow last night. That was sweet. He was pretty disappointed this morning when Tim told him that school wasn't cancelled. He had been talking about no school for 2 days so he was not a happy camper this AM when he had to go. It pretty much rained all night but didn't freeze. There is still some snow on the ground but I'm sure that will all be melted in a few hours.

Here's Mac catching snowflakes on his tongue!

Here's McG and a couple of his friends in the neighborhood catching snowflakes. They are from Brooklyn, New York so they weren't too impressed with this snowfall but still were excited to see snow in Georgia. As a side note...look at the difference in size of McGwire and his friends. They are the same age...maybe a couple of months apart. They are twins, so I think they were a bit premature, but still!

Making snow angels! :)

McGwire scrounged up enough snow to make a snowball and then the fight was on!!

Here's a video of all of the fun!!!! It was snowing pretty good at the time but you can't see a thing on the video. At least it shows how much fun the kids were having!

It's fine to be (almost) nine!

Lil' Mac's birthday isn't until the 26th, but since mom and dad were here and we were all in the mood for a little cake, we went ahead and celebrated his pre birthday. We stopped at a local bakery and bought what they had in stock. Ok, so it has flowers, and flowers aren't the most masculine things for an almost 9 year old boy, but let me tell you....it was DELISH! We'll get him a more gender appropriate cake for his actual birthday.

Blowin' out the candle. I didn't have any birthday candles, so we put a tealight (as if the flowers weren't feminine enough) on the top of the cake for him to blow out.
One more shot of the b'day boy in his new Thrashers teeshirt. He is obsessed with hockey!
Can't forget Lilah. She is getting so big and chews on EVERYTHING. She's like a dog. She is really beginning to play with her toys and "talks" all of the time just to hear her own voice. (Just like her mom)
It takes a while to capture it on film, but she does smile occasionally. Actual pictures of her smiling are rare~like shots of Sasquatch and "Nessie" (the loch ness monster).
...it doesn't take much to get daddy to smile.

Anyone up for a $300 game of hockey?

McGwire saved up all of his tickets from the Stevie B's gameroom in order to buy this air hockey tabletop game. It cost 900 tickets which translates into about $300! Actually, I kid....it was only about $250. Seriously, it took about 4 or 5 trips to Stevie B's at about $5 per person for the buffet, about $5 per trip to the gameroom per visit, so you do the math. Of course Tim won most of the tickets but McGwire spent most of the money trying to win the tickets! Tonight was the night! He was so excited to go up to the counter to make his purchase. There were a few of his friends standing around (it was his school night at the restraunt) watching in awe. McGwire told mom tonight that he was going back to his old ways...he was going to spend any new tickets he won on gum and plastic vampire teeth.
Here's McGwire in action, kicking his dad's butt in cheap tabletop air hockey. Anyone who knows Tim, knows that he is actually the one winning. He wouldn't give McGwire a break...even on the first night of playing with his new game!
....and the fighting begins.
Of course I have to throw a picture of Lilah in.

Weekend Fun

McGwire had his first basketball game on Saturday. The league he plays for does not keep score but McGwire's team would have won if they had. He sure had a great time even though he had no clue what to do.
Here's our little "Larry" Bird in action.
Tim was probably yelling for him to keep his head in the game when this picture was taken.
This is picture time after church. This is McG's "act natural" look.

Miss fatty Fatterson. She is chunky but sure is cute! She doesn't have "cankles"...she has "thankles" (her ankles are the same size as her thighs)! haha She has the same freaked out look in almost every picture we take of her. She seems to be a little disturbed by the camera.

Guitar Hero Wannabee's

I got the game "Guitar Hero" for Christmas this year (thank you Timmy) and we are addicted. Tim is already on medium level and McGwire is just about to surpass me on the easy level. I may not be the best fake guitar player in the house but I sure am having fun playing in my own band!

My guitar hero, lil Mac. The name of his band is Rock _and_ Sock. Mine and Tim's band is The Birdhouse (of course). I would post a picture of Tim jammin' right now but he's in his underwear . Try not to picture that in your mind!!

Here's Lilah and McGwire after church Sunday. This is the face she usually makes whenever McGwire is near her. This is the cute sweater that Auntie Kayla sent from Germany. You can't see the rest of her outfit, but trust me...it's cute! I Loooove dressing her.

Here's the shoes Kayla sent her. I'm not normally a fan of the baby shoes, but these are the cutest little things ever.

testing, testing...

I'm going to try to post a video here. I'm still learning how to do all of this so bear with me. If this works, it is a video of McGwire on his scooter.
