Craft nightmares part deux (that's part two for all you non French speakers)

I don't know if you remember my first craft nightmare post (I'm sure hoping you forgot) but I decided to take another stab at it and make a couple of wall hangings for either side of our bathroom closet with hooks for our towels. Looked GREAT in my minds eye, but in true Kelly form, it turned out completely wrong. My side looks fine and the hook is in a stud.

Tim's side didn't fare as well. His "T" is off center and there was no stud anywhere so his poor towel has to stay draped over the closet door instead of hanging nicely on the hook!!

I wish I was rich and didn't have to make my own artwork...it's embarrassing!!

And if that nightmare wasn't scary enough, check this out!?!

3 LILAH'S

Now THAT'S terrifying!!!!!

Sweet cheeks!

Now tell me...is this not the cutest thing you've ever seen?!?!

Kayla, I know you're hoping for a boy but come on...you can't put cute bloomers on a boy. Well, you could but let's not go there!

Happy 10th Birthaday, Mac!!!!!

McGwire had an AWESOME birthday yesterday!! It started out but going to Sonic for breakfast (He actually wanted to go to the "Awful Waffle" but we didn't have time) before dropping him off at school. Then after taking Lilah to the doctor (I'll post about that later as this post is all about Mac) I picked him up from school just before lunch. He thought that was so GREAT. We then proceded to Daddy's office to drop him off there, by way of a quick BK lunch, and those two went to the Thrashers practice while I went to do a little wrapping and pick up the cake!

McG and Tim spend so much time at Thrashers practices' and plus with them going on their hockey trip and seeing the players in Canada, the players actually recognize them now. Several of the players "flipped" him some pucks. I think he got about 6 pucks and so after practice he got several players to autograph the pucks and some cards he brought.

Then, his favorite player Moose, the goalie, gave him his game stick when McG told him it was his birthday!!! What an AWESOME gift!!! McGwire was stoked!!! (Do they say "stoked" anymore these days?)

Anywho, when they got back home, McG opened presents.

He got EVERYTHING HOCKEY like:

These cards...

and these cards....

and these card holders...

and this jersey!!!

But his favorite gift that he got was THIS!!

He wanted this ever since he saw it at the store. He was hoping he'd get enough b'day money to buy it himself. Now he can use his money for something else!!!

After a few games of table hockey w/ Daddy, the missionaries came over for pizza and then after a few more games of table hockey, our good friends came over for MORE table hockey and ice cream and cake!!!!

Yes, that is a picture of McGwire on the cake! It was delicious!!!

It was a great day. I can't believe my little miracle baby is 10 years old. He is such a joy in our lives and I love him more than he'll ever know!!

Goodies from Grandma

It's always fun when grandma sends packages. McG was thrilled to get his birthday package and although his b'day isn't til Monday, he insisted he open her presents last night!

The cool Pittsburgh Penguins cap. (I was told I had to wear it in the stands tonight at Mcg's hockey game since they are the Penguins. No thank you!)

Not too excited about the hockey cards, sorry!

Um...Where's my loot?

Lilah loves her new Raggedy Ann...

...a little too much!!!

Thanks grandma!!!

Turning Japanese, I think I'm Turning Japanese....

We have some friends from hockey/church who's mom is Asian. Tim wanted her to come over to teach me how to make sushi. I haven't even mastered American food yet so I refused to learn another county's cuisine!! Tim was all to willing to learn though, and I am glad he did! He is now a sushi-making master!!

We started off by going to the local Asian supermarket. What an experience! It was huge and it was filled with very rude people and it was filled to the max with unrecognizable food and the unrecognizable food had labels written in a different language so it was even more unrecognizable and it was filled with workers who either ...A: didn't speak english or B: pretended like they couldn't speak english and it was filled with the glorious smell of raw fish and it was....well, you get the picture. While we were there, we stumbled across this fine product:

Yes, that is green bean flavored popcyles. Not to be confused with the red bean flavored popcycles. No thank you (and I never turn down sweets)!

Here is a small sample of Tim's masterpieces.

Here's McG sampling and small sample of Tim's masterpieces.

~FUNNY STORY~

Last year, the cub scout blue and gold banquet theme was "Chinese New Year". Tim was in charge of some of it since he is the cubmaster. He went to the Asian market and picked up a few gifts for all of the ladies who were helping out (about 5 or 6, I think). Anyway, the banquet went fine and awards were given out and Tim proudly handed the ladies their gifts, which were a nice boxed set of chopsticks (as seen here:)

Several days later, a friend (who was a recipient of the chopsticks) and I were talking and she mentioned what a kick her husband got out of the x-rated chopsticks. :side note: I should mention that our cub scout troup is at our church. Anywho, I , of course, had no idea what she was talking about until I went and examined the chopsticks myself. And lo and behold, right there on the yellow pair of chopsticks, was: A nipple!

Yes my husband gave a bunch of mormon women chopstick pornography! Luckily, everyone else thought it was funny to0!

Nice Ice

Finally we are getting some winter weather here in Georgia! Tim lit a fire everday this week and I am loving it!
McGwire is loving the ice that he found in the swimming pool this morning!

P.S. There are no "after" PICTURES to show of McGwire's clean room because there is no AFTER to take a picture OF!!!

Extreme Makeover~ Lilah's version

Last week, when I went up to Mac's room to put up his laundry , I just about had a heart attack when I saw the mess. It looked like a hurricane had gone through there. Worse than it has ever been. Apparently it was so bad that even HE couldn't stand to be in there anymore, so he started sleeping in the guest bedroom and started destoying that as well. I noticed Lilah's room was getting bad too (outgrown clothes and toys scattered on the floor) so I put an end to it this weekend. I cleaned the guest room and started on Lilah's room. Tim had bought some beautiful pictures for her room for Christmas that needed hanging and I needed to do a little tweaking with the decor in there anyway so I did that while McG supposedly cleaned his room. More on that tommorrow!
Here's a couple of "before" pictures
I am embarrassed to show them, but in my defense, I
have been very busy since Christmas!

And here's the "after's". I am pleased with the way it turned out. Too bad Lilah can't appreciate my glorious decorating skills!

These are the pictures Tim bought for her. Aren't they beautiful?

I ordered a monogram for the round one.

An apothecary jar filled with pacifiers! 'Can't beat that. Thank P*ttery Barn for letting me steal that idea from you!!

McGwire wrote this note to Lilah after she was born.

Lilah's blessing gown that Grandma made.

On a side note: I babysat a little boy from church the other day and Lilah was very intregued by him. She stared at him the whole time and followed him everywhere he went.

It was very cute but I certainly hope she grows out of that. She don't need to be following no boys around!
